Dr Sujit Chowdhary FRCS, is a Pediatric Urologist & Director of Apollo Institute of Pediatric Sciences in New Delhi. He is Gold medalist from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune & obtained basic surgical training at Post Graduate Institute,Chandigarh. He is board certified in Pediatric Urology from American & European Board of Urology.While in UK, he was awarded Guy Baines Registrars Medal of the British Association of Urologists in 1996. He joined on the faculty of the Post Graduate Institute at Chandigarh in 1997, & was appointed as an Associate Professor at Prince of Wales university teaching hospital in Hong Kong. While there, he was invited as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2003. In the last 20 years at Apollo, his team has created a neonatal surgery centre of excellence with over 95% successful outcomes after surgery in over 1000 consecutive newborns. The team has pioneered a Pediatric Urology programme, which has developed Robotic & Laparoscopic urology in babies, Neonatal Endourology, Pediatric Urodynamics,Upper tract endourology in babies.The centre has emerged as third largest robotic urology programme in the world(Intuitive), with nearly 500 successful robotic surgeries in babies & children . This team has been awarded the first prize in the various scientific sessions of the annual meeting of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons successively and the centre has been accredited for post graduate training by the National Board of Examination and started Post Doctoral fellowship programme in Pediatric Urology (Intuitive, USA). He has been Guest faculty of American Urology Association, Asia Pacific Urology Association, South African Asssociation of Pediatrics and over 100 national meetings of IAP, USI, ASI, IAPS. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers in international and national journals with over 900 citations, written chapters for international reference text books in Pediatric urology and has been reviewer for the most prestigious American & British journals ie Pediatrics(USA), Journal of Urology(USA), British Journal of Urology & Journal of Pediatric Surgery (USA) in addition to several Indian journals.
